Standing in Need of Prayer

Prayer is said to be the master key that opens all doors. For many, prayer becomes a last resort when all else have failed. Human intervention in the midst of life's struggles is the easiest and nearest we can appeal to. When we can't make it through a trial, we turn to someone with 'experience' to help us sail through. When we face eviction or collection calls, we turn to banks and friends to bail us out. When we receive the pink slip we look for a lawyer. When we receive the call from the employer saying we didn't get the job we become angry and bitter. When the coroner or family member calls to inform us of the passing of a loved one, we ask god 'why?'

We stand in the need of prayer daily and our trust in god is manifested in the one to whom we turn when night seems to have come too early in our lives. Our true anchor is the person or thing to whom we turn when the billows of life come flooding over our tiny boat.

Make it your duty to daily throw yourself into the arms of the almighty god in prayer, knowing that when we make him our delight, he shall make our needs his daily business.
